Lee Carter, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker who has been in practice in Virginia for over 25 years. With her practical and compassionate style, Lee specializes in counseling adults experiencing grief or those coping with serious medical illness. Lee is particularly interested in the emotional effects of cancer and how it impacts the whole family.
After receiving her degree in psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, Lee earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from VCU in 1990 and was licensed in 1993. She started her career working with HCA Hospice and Charter Westbrook Hospital. Lee has extensive experience working with cancer patients and their families from her years at the Cullather Brain Tumor Quality of Life Center at St. Mary’s Hospital. In 2001, Lee began seeing clients in private practice.
