Lee Carter, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker who has been in practice in Virginia for over 25 years. With her practical and compassionate style, Lee specializes in counseling adults, adolescents, couples and families. Her areas of expertise include Clinical Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, relationship problems, marriage counseling, coping with serious medical illness, bereavement and grief. Ms. Carter is particularly interested in the emotional effects of cancer and how it impacts the whole family. Located in the West End of Richmond, Lee’s new office is at the corner of Pump and Ridgefield Parkway.
After receiving her degree in psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University, Lee earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from VCU in 1990 and was licensed in 1993. She started her career working with HCA Hospice and Charter Westbrook Hospital. In 2001, Lee began seeing clients in private practice. In addition to seeing private clients, she works with cancer patients and their families at the Cullather Brain Tumor Quality of Life Center at St. Mary’s Hospital.
